Italian Capital of Culture 2023 Logo And Launch Campaign

Italian Capital of Culture 2023

One logo shared by two different cities (Bergamo and Brescia, united as year 2023 Italian Capital of Culture) inspired to the pop culture and designed to evolve during time. The whole geometry is based on bending of linear elements with constant thickness, inspired by the construction rods for which the two cities are well known, with the aim of overturning a stereotype of industrial cities and celebrate their resiliance during the first covid-19 surge. The iconic red element not only is a 3 and a B at the same time, but also can acquire different meanings and shapes in different contexts.

Zhong Yuan No 1

Zhong Yuan No. 1 is a packaging design for Maojian tea, a traditional Chinese tea grown in terraced fields. Because the flavor of the tea is light and mild, the package is kept subtle and refined. The tea can is made of tinplate with embossing and gold stamping, and matte and varnish finishes are combined. The capped shape of the can recalls a tea picker wearing a hat. The outer box is made of customized paper and is closed by a shaped belt inspired by the window frames of old tea farmer houses. Real tea leaves decorate the belt.

The dragon and the monk, shown with a red kasaya, a patchwork outer vestment and a palm-leaf fan, are figures from the film and were rendered with three-dimensional software. The ink was made with water and tested on rice paper, hard paper and cloth to compare textures. All parts were then combined digitally.

Flow White Wine Packaging

Flow

Flow is a packaging design for white wine that encourages moderate drinking. The bottle is shaped like an hourglass and is made of transparent double-layer glass. The hourglass form makes the drink flow slowly, so pouring takes longer and the poured amount is easier to control. The outer box is made of transparent PVC. Flow links drinking with the passing of time and reminds people to value health.

Snow Peak Visual Identity

Snow Peak

Recognition is an important evaluation index in logo design. How to use a simple design language to integrate the hotel with the complex and changeable landmark Potala Palace is one of the difficulties in the whole design. The Potala Palace is a holy building in the eyes of Tibetans. Therefore, the design team refined the most representative element pillars as design elements, and created the image of the three-dimensional Potala Palace through two-dimensional techniques, so that the annotation conveyed a strong regional style.
