Zhengyuanpu
Zhengyuanpu Travellers Series is a portable packaging design for Pu'er tea, a traditional Chinese drink. Pu'er tea is usually sold as pressed cakes of 357 grams, which must be pried open with a tea pin before brewing. The Travellers Series holds a small portion instead, so no tools are needed and the wrapper is simply torn open. Each wrapper measures 50 by 85 by 3 millimetres and is made of cotton paper. Embossing, debossing and foil stamping shape the tea image and suit the taste of the intended consumers. Safer materials and a simpler production process were selected.
Zhengyuanpu Pu'er Tea Packaging by Jinde Design has been featured as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Zhengyuanpu Pu'er Tea Packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that recognizes excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
