Modulabs
Modulabs is a visual identity system created for a research community. The identity system is built with a dedicated variable typeface. The typeface has a single growth axis with 300 steps, which allows many different letter shapes. Each letter is drawn carefully rather than generated from geometric forms, giving a human character. The slightly wobbly letters reflect action and exploration instead of perfect results. Members can apply the typeface to match the identity, and internal tools help them create names with ease.
Modulabs Identity System by Wonseon Yu has been featured as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Modulabs Identity System was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2023. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that honors exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
