Gregory Donut
Gregory Donut is a paper-based packaging design for donuts sold as take-away food. All visible paper is food contact grade. The sleeve is made of high tenacity FBB paper, coated with a water-based matt varnish that protects the ink and printed with food grade soy ink. A ninety degree rotational structure allows the packer to form the box quickly, so the packaging can be shipped flat. Each box holds six donuts, and two sleeve handle sizes suit six or twelve pieces. Navy blue graphics with donut and wheat illustrations recall sailor culture.
Gregory Donut Packaging by Jinglun Cui was highlighted as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Gregory Donut Packaging won the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that celebrates excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
