Ten Years Planting Cycle
Qinjianguo is a packaging design for iron stick yam powder. The product follows a ten-year planting cycle, in which the land rests and only one season of yam is grown every decade. Yam grown in such soil absorbs rich nutrients, and the pulp is made directly into powder. The box measures 120 by 120 by 150 millimeters. The graphics form a visual symbol of the number ten, built from swallows in spring, cicadas in summer, farming work in autumn, cedars in winter and plowing farmers. The imagery shows the seasons of the decade.
Ten Years Planting Cycle Packaging by Jonny Wang was featured as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Ten Years Planting Cycle Packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious international design award which honors excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
